Happy Friday! Unfortunately, if you are doing the sugar challenge with us, you’ll have to save this treat as a reward for afterwards since it does have brown sugar in it. BUT, the good news is you can pin it now to save for later. 🙂 I tried this Baked Brie with Whiskey Pecan Sauce back at our Galentine’s Day shoot and I knew then I HAD to get the recipe to share with you guys. It is SO good! I’ve invited my new friend The Nutritious Bite to share it with you today. PS Don’t forget to enter to win my IT! Cosmetics giveaway and the Kortni Jean bathing suit giveaway! PPS If you are a last minute shopper like me, make sure you check out the LOFT 40% off friends and family sale with code FRIENDS (I got this shirt, this flutter sleeve top and this eyelet one-shoulder top!) or the HUGE SHOPBOP sale with 20-25% off EVERYTHING!
When friends come over or if we get invited to someone’s house last minute, this appetizer is definitely our go-to. We typically already have all the ingredients on hand except for the Brie, which I can quickly run in and grab at the grocery store. This recipe is a crowd pleaser because let’s be honest, who doesn’t love the combo of Brie + brown sugar + whiskey + pecans? As a dietitian, I definitely think foods like this can be part of a healthy lifestyle when shared in the company of others. I made this recipe recently for our Galentine’s dinner but followed it with an entrée filled with vegetables, lean protein, healthy fats, and whole grains. It’s all about balance! The best part of this recipe is how quickly it comes together. You can start it about 10 minutes before guests arrive and it’ll be ready just in time!
This recipe can be made in about 3 easy steps.
Baked Brie with Whiskey Pecan Sauce
- Bake the brie in preheated oven for about 10 minutes.
- While brie is baking, make whiskey pecan sauce by melting butter and then adding brown sugar, whiskey, and pecans. Allow this mixture to simmer while brie is in oven.
- Once brie has started to melt, pull it out of the oven and top with whiskey pecan sauce. Serve with ginger snaps and green apples.
So simple. For the full detailed recipe, go over to The Nutritious Bite.
