Looking for the perfect frugal date night in the merriest time of the year? May I suggest a fabulous night in your city checking out the lights?! My hubs and I bundled up in our winter garb, went to our local coffee house (O’Henry’s in Homewood) and grabbed some coffee to drive around Homewood and Mountain Brook looking at beautifully lit homes and shopping areas with the Christmas music cranked up.
I was super excited to try the new Vanilla Creme Brûlée coffee. It made the perfect companion for our drive through our city streets! The hubs and I put on Christmas music and ooh’ed and ahh’ed over lights, lit snowflakes, wreaths, Santas, nativity scenes and more. At this time of year, it’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of getting gifts, wrapping gifts, baking, wrapping things up and so forth. But, taking an hour or so to just enjoy each other on a low key date was just what Santa ordered for a lovely night like this.
I hope you and your beau can do the same thing this season, because truly we are too blessed to be stressed.
Since we haven’t gotten around to making Christmas or New Year’s cards this year, here’s our card from last year. God bless and Merry Christmas!
