Thank you a2 Milk® for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.

Did y’all love the chocolate milk recovery smoothie I posted a few weeks back? It’s still one of my favorites to throw together and Leyton loves to steal sips when I let him, ha! It’s the only way I can sneak in veggies and extra calories for this kid!

I mentioned a few weeks back that we buy organic milk sometimes for Leyton and non-organic milk other times. I had lots of you ask me all kinds of questions about this so I thought I’d dive into our decision-making process a little bit more. It’s of course just what we do and it’s totally up to you how you want to feed and care for your sweet babe. đŸ™‚

I breastfed Leyton until he was about 1, but by the 12th month my supply was getting pretty low so I started mixing in organic milk with frozen breast milk to make it through to the year. I talked with Leyton’s doctor about it and felt relieved when I knew the signs to look for if it was going to be a problem for him.

Leyton transitioned beautifully to organic milk and has been on it exclusively until about 20 months. When we were visiting with one of my best friends-shout out to Steele!- who has a little boy very close in age to Leyton I noticed she was giving him regular milk. I asked her about it and she said to cut back on costs, they had started to introduce regular milk some as well.

Eric and I started thinking about it and researching and thought that we may want to try that as well. So, now if we find organic milk at a stock up price we’ll buy it, but otherwise we’ve settled on milks that don’t have added growth hormones or antibiotics in them.

We love The a2 Milk Company™ for this reason. Their toddler milk naturally contains on the pure A2 protein, which can help take away any discomfort you may  typically feel from milk. There are no added growth hormones or antibiotics and all their family farms are independently certified by a group to enforce strict animal welfare guidelines, which Leyton would love because he always says MOOOO when he sees the cow on the side of the packaging. đŸ™‚

a2 Milk® makes a complete line of 100% real, naturally easy to digest milk including Whole, 2%, 1% and Chocolate Milk as you saw in my Chocolate Smoothie Recovery recipe. We buy a2 Whole Milk for Leyton to drink at my local Publix. Leyton typically drinks a cup of milk in the morning, a smaller cup of milk after his nap after he eats (so he won’t be too full to eat), and a cup of milk before bedtime.

How much milk do you give your toddler? Have you tried a2 Milk®? Which toddler milk do you use? I’d love to hear in the comments below!

This milk is 4.99 at the store I shop at for a half gallon. I half gallon of organic milk is 3.49. I was buying A2 milk it for at lest 3 months and saw no difference. Not worth the extra money!
